Biography
Maj. Gen. Todd J. McCubbin is the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Florida. As the Air Force component of United States Special Operations Command, AFSOC provides Air Force special operations forces for worldwide deployment and assignment to unified combatant commanders with approximately 20,800 active-duty, Reserve, Air National Guard and civilian professionals.
Maj. Gen. McCubbin received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Wisconsin where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his wings at Reese Air Force Base, Texas, in 1989. Maj. Gen. McCubbin has served in a variety of positions during his career, including Deputy Director of Operations at U.S. Southern Command, wing and squadron commands, Canadian Forces exchange officer and liaison to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Prior to his current assignment, Maj. Gen. McCubbin was the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, 3rd Air Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa.
General McCubbin is a command pilot with more than 5,000 flying hours and 220 combat hours in the T-37, T-38A, C-12A, CT-114, C-5A/B/AMP and C-130H2/H3.
He has been awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Aerial Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with silver oak leaf cluster, Combat Readiness Medal, National Defense, Service Medal with bronze star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” device.
